The Hall of the Mountain King by Deisi The Hall of the Mountain King by Deisi
Meh, quick color job. Not sure if I like it. But anyway.
Not actually in The Hobbit in print, but I'm sure it happened. With Bilbo sneaking around all over the Wood Elf castle, he had to have run into Legolas sooner or later. As much as I detest Orlando Bloom, I hope we see Legolas wandering around in the castle when they make the movie. No speaking parts, because the kid can't act, just him making an appearance.
I'm totally on an uploading spree. I need to reign myself in.
Props to whoever can tell me what composer was initially associated with the title "In the Hall of the Mountain King."

Well of course he had to run into Legolas. It was inavoideble. I'd love to read a fic where Bilbo states to Legolas that he passed by him invisibls*Snickers* I can just picture Legolas sputtering indignantly, well, make that suprised. Hmmm...I might have to write that.

Haha, I had that as part of a fic I was writing about Legolas' story leading up to the Council of Elrond... I have an illustration of it somewhere in my gallery.

Grieg? Edvard Grieg?

I admit, I had to look it up... but that song title was so familiar!!!

That's a really cool pic, I love how Bilbo is so ghostly in the corner there!

I always thought about that when I was reading The Hobbit. Legolas must've been around somewhere right?
Anyways, great job!

I cannot stress how much I LOVE this picture! I have pictured a similar scene. I also like that you have also drawn Legolas with dark hair. And I love Bilbo's adorable ghostly form.

I'm in the pit, which basically means to everyone else in the band, I'm at the bottom of the social ladder. It's annoying, but I'm used to it...which may or may not be a good thing.

I really shouldn't be complaining about Grieg...after all, he *did* get us into the ACCs.

I've only played his stuff (we also did Anitra's Dance and Aases Death...so, basically Peer Gynt) on marimba, xylophone, etc. I'd *like* to learn it on the trumpet, but unfortunatly, my trumpet skills are kind of eh. I like my violin better^^

Hey, the pit's cool. I was in the pit for our winter drumline for a few years. That's cool that you play so many instruments, though. I bet Grieg sounds better on violin than trumpet, anyway. :aww:

yayyy marching band! What do you play?
We played some of the Peer Gynt suite in symphonic band, but I also played "Mountain King" on piano. Grieg's one of my favorite composers.
But yes, attached to marching band, anything becomes irritating after a while. ^^

Oh man, a chance meeting between Bilbo and Legolas would have been SO COOL. *squee* I prefer Legolas the character to Orlando Bloom, but I'm not gonna complain about it too much because Orlando's kinda pretty. Anyways, I like your version of Legolas much better. And I also like how you managed to make Bilbo invisible and still give him dimension.

Edvard Greig, Peir Gynt Suite. Not sure that's how it's spelled, but too lazy to look it up.

Bilbo's wearing that Ring. Only in strong sunlight could you then see him as a ripple.
